you shall rise.

You walked with judgmental eyes.

Your heart closed to sturdy walls.

Open to change, but tied to the chain.

You felt little to no pain.

Then the time came.

You stood surrounded, in one, at peace.

But word by word, phrase by phrase, the words came down your face.

The realization of pains and guilts made you, as too, a flower could wilt.

A hold of the hand, a permanent brand.

The powerful eyes and sorrowful cries gave light to the lies.

No longer could you laugh at the hateful slurs, for you knew in your heart, they were not yours.

Your heart sang with glee, and indeed you were happy.

And as the wind rustled the leaves, you knew forever will you keep these memories.

Close to your heart, never apart.

Love you’ll share, and forever shall you care.
