Dear Michael,

Thank you for making those beautiful songs that we always grooved to at parties and family gatherings.

Thank you for making “Thriller”, that just a couple weeks ago I danced to with family friends:

   

Thank you for making “Dirty Diana”, that I always connected to myself being the Diana that I am.

Thank you for making “Beat it” that my mother always sang at the top of her lungs embarrassing me in front of my friends.

Thank you for making “Billie Jean”, that always made playing GTA:Vice City three times more fun.

Thank you for making “Scream” with Janet, that I always listened to when I felt like, well, screaming.

Thank you for doing the epic moonwalk, which my mother and i tried numerous times to master in the middle of our living room.

Thank you for giving me so many other songs that I grew up to, Sunday afternoons of mom listening to “The Girl Is Mine” and dusting the furniture. Dorky nights of listening to thriller on my head phones and grooving like no one was watching. Embarrassing drives with the top down, singing at the top of our lungs, BILLIE JEAN’S NOT MY LOVA, SHE’S JUST A GIRLLLLLLLL.

No matter the controversy you went through, and the couple times I doubted your sanity, you were the most amazing artist of our time. You and Madonna were and still are to me the epitome of what a musical artist should be, and will forever live on through your music.
